What is the dresscode?
- Formal attire for the actual wedding. However, please don’t take this too strictly – e.g. we don’t care about whether you wear sneakers with your suit, or flats instead of high heels, a long or short dress, or a bowtie vs tie vs no tie at all. Whatever makes you feel most chic! For all other events, please come as you are!
I don’t speak Italian – will this be an issue?
- No! The Amalfi Coast area is very touristy and developed, and most people speak English.
Who should I notify in case of an unexpected issue during the event?
- Ideally NOT the bride or groom. We will also share contact details of our planners shortly, who will be onsite and ready to assist with anything!
How will we get from A to B in Italy? (Eg from the hotel to the beach)
- Please see Travel Tips page.
I have never been to a wedding in Europe. What should I expect?
- The only major difference is that European weddings take a lot longer than American ones. After the ceremony and dinner, the party will last until ~3am!
I will have a baby/ toddler with me. Will there be space at the venue for occasional privacy?
- All new parents are welcome to use the bridal suite in the venue (upstairs) after the ceremony for storing baby supplies and occasional quiet time!
I want to bring a gift. Should I bring the gift to Italy?
- We welcome cards, but please send larger gifts to Lucien McRobbie (2809 Somerset Court, Bloomington, IN 47401, USA) or Anne‘s parents address in Bremen (Buntentorsteinweg 222, 28201 Bremen, Germany), or to Anne’s and Lucien’s address in Chicago. Please note that the newlyweds will be on their honeymoon until Oct 17 and hence won‘t be able to accept packages in Chicago during this time.
What do you recommend to do in the area?
- Walk the garden
- Get lemon sorbet served in a lemon down at the coast
- Take a day trip to Capri or Positano
- Visit the Vesuvius volcano and Herculaneum
- Eat as much delicious Italian food as you can!!
For how long will the bride and groom be in Ravello?
