Anne arrives in the US as a high school exchange student, age 15. Meets Lucien at pontoon boat party celebrating her host sister Corinne’s 17th birthday. Later that year, Anne and Lucien miss out on a chance to be each others’ prom date.

Anne lives in Munich and meets Lucien to join him at Oktoberfest. Lucien kisses her at Schuetzenfestzelt, and they spend a fun evening together going on all the rides at Oktoberfest. Lucien ends up spending the whole week with Anne in Munich, also meeting one of Anne’s closest friends, Adriana. They fall in love. He leaves on Monday and both of them feel heartbroken.

Anne visits Lucien in Chicago while on a US trip for Thanksgiving. Whether the actual purpose of the trip was Thanksgiving or seeing Lucien will forever be a secret. Lucien and Anne conclude that they really are in love and that, against all the odds, they want to give their love a chance. During this trip, Anne also meets Luciens parents for the first time

Spent the holidays in Chicago, then New Years at Disneyland in Florida!

Anne takes on project work in Michigan, and her and Lucien explore Detroit and NYC together on the weekends

Anne and Lucien move into an Airbnb in Bloomington. While the pandemic was difficult for many, for us, being together and not having to travel for work and cooking together every day was pure bliss, and we have very fond memories of our time there

Anne’s grandma passes away unexpectedly. Although the occasion is sad, Lucien finally gets to meet Anne’s family!
