Making Your Way to Ravello
We’re thrilled to celebrate this special occasion with you in the charming town of Ravello, Italy! To make your journey as smooth as possible, here’s a handy guide on various ways to reach Ravello.

By Plane and Cab (Recommended)
Arriving at Naples International Airport (NAP): This is the closest major airport to Ravello. From Naples, hop in a cab, Uber, or arrange for a rented car transfer to take you on a scenic drive along the Amalfi Coast (please note: if you are not comfortable driving in Europe, and with fairly curvy roads, we recommend Uber or cab). The journey offers breathtaking views and takes approximately 1 hour. The price is typically 150 euros but is the simplest way to make the trip.
We also recommend grouping up with other guests to split the costs of an Uber XL or a van! Anne and Lucien will also provide details of their trusted cab driver and his company once Anne has negotiated a deal.

By Boat
From Naples to Amalfi: For a scenic maritime journey, consider taking a ferry or boat from Naples to Amalfi. From the airport you take a cab or the Alibus to the Naples Maritime Station. Upon reaching Amalfi, you can then catch a bus or hire a cab to reach Ravello. The boat journey provides a different perspective of the Amalfi Coast and is a memorable way to arrive. The ferry itself takes around 1.5 hours, but unlike cabs, ferries are not available 24/7, please make sure to check the schedule.

By Bus
From Naples: There are a variety of bus options to get you to Ravello from Naples Airport but may involve one or more connections. This may be much more time consuming so please consider carefully.
From Amalfi: If you’re already in the Amalfi town, you can take a SITA 5110 bus to Ravello. The bus ride offers spectacular coastal views and takes approximately 30 minutes. You should be able to buy SITA bus tickets near the stop or at convivence stores that have the SITA logo. Your hotel can probably guide you to the nearest location that sells them. SITA buses can also take you many places from Ravello. SITA Bus Schedule Link
Pintour Buses: This is a private bus company that has several routes to the Amalfi/Ravello area.
Sunday Beach Day Tip: The easiest way to make it from Ravello to California Beach in Minori is a Cab which should take approximately 18 minutes. For bus, you take the SITA 5110 from Ravello to Amalfi (30 minutes) then change to the SITA 5120 to go from Amalfi to Minori Beach (15 minutes). If you decide to walk from Ravello to the beach it should take 34 minutes and mostly be downhill, but you may not want to walk back up that hill!

By Train
Arriving at Salerno Railway Station: If you prefer the scenic route, take a train to Salerno. Naples -> Salerno is about 30-40 minutes and Rome -> Salerno is 1 hour 40 minutes. The following drive from Salerno to Ravello takes around 45 minutes.

Car Rental
If you enjoy driving and want the freedom to explore, renting a car allows you to navigate the winding roads of the Amalfi Coast independently. Many car rental options are available at Naples Airport. Note: We only recommend this if you’re an experienced driver and have parking included with your hotel. Ravello is a more challenging area to drive and park in.

Scooter Rental
Upon arrival in Ravello, and for a more adventurous and nimble experience, consider renting a scooter. It’s a fun way to zip around the narrow streets of Ravello and nearby areas. Many scooter businesses deliver the scooter to your location too. We loved doing this when we visited Amalfi!
General Travel Tips
Local Currency: Euro (EUR) is widely accepted. Ensure you have some cash for small purchases. AmEx is not widely accepted, and many places only take cash. If this is your first time in Europe, we recommend getting a bit of Euro cash at the airport currency exchange.
Tipping: Tips at ~10% (usually not significantly more) are appreciated.
Language: While Italian is the official language, English is commonly understood in tourist areas.
Tap water is generally drinkable everywhere in Europe!
Attire: Ravello has a relaxed vibe, but pack a mix of casual and dressier attire for various wedding events. We will share event-specific dress codes in our written wedding invite.
Local Cuisine: Don’t miss the opportunity to savor local dishes, including fresh seafood and delicious pastas.
Weather: Check the forecast and pack accordingly. Ravello enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with temperatures around 76F/24C in September.
Transportation after arrival in Amalfi: Ubers aren’t used in the region (you can get one at the airport, but not in every town) and cabs/buses are most commonly used. Scooters are very common but please only consider if you’re a strong, confident driver. Your hotel can also help you with transportation tips!
