Lina

Lina, Anne’s younger sister who remarkably stands taller than her, is currently pursuing her studies abroad in Taiwan as part of her business school program at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. When not engrossed in her academic pursuits, she enjoys quality time with university friends, indulging in TLC and German reality TV with Anne, experimenting with culinary creations alongside their dad, and offering Anne insightful (yet sometimes unsolicited) advice on enhancing her relationship with the family’s cat, Jayjay.

Sara

Say hello to Sara, Anne’s lifelong friend! They’ve been inseparable since their middle school days, and their friendship spans through numerous music phases, fashion trends, and even their first sip of beer together. Sara now resides in the fashion capital Paris, where she works for the European Union, focusing on sustainable finance and regularly publishing insightful studies.

Adriana

Adriana, or Adi as her friends affectionately call her, is a fellow Jacobs University alum. Anne’s and Adi’s early mornings were often spent rowing together, their heights almost perfectly matched in the rowing boat. They’ve shared the pain of blisters and joyful memories of watching many sunrises together. During Anne’s internship at OW in summer 2016, she stayed with Adi in Munich. Now, Adi, also known as Dr. Trutzenberg due to her recent microbiology PhD, works for BASF in agricultural science in the vibrant city of Berlin.

Claire

Meet Claire, the dynamic exchange student from Science Po who joined Jacobs University in 2010. She’s been a vital part of the Jacobs girls crew ever since, known for orchestrating the annual reunions in Southern France or the German Alps for skiing. Currently, a true Parisian at heart, Claire is serving as the Chief of Staff to the French Prime Minister.

Vedya

Introducing Vedya, originally from Istanbul, Turkey, and another Jacobs University Bremen graduate alongside Anne. She’s hosted the Jacobs girls in her picturesque hometown numerous times, creating unforgettable memories of Mediterranean summers. A biochemist by training, Vedya now thrives as a design thinking consultant at Visa. Her current home is in Amsterdam, where she’s preparing for the arrival of her first child.

Corinne

Corinne and the bride first met during an exchange year in Bloomington, IN, where a strong friendship blossomed. Since then, Corinne has made a name for herself as a dedicated scientist and a rockstar mom to her two young sons, Bodie and Rowan. Residing in Boulder, CO with her husband, Corinne embraces the great outdoors and loves spending time hiking in the beautiful Colorado landscape. An amazing runner, she balances her athletic prowess with being an all-around supportive friend—just ask her about the marathon shopping trip in Chicago where she helped the bride find the perfect dress!

The Groomsmen

Jeremy

Meet Jeremy (known by friends as Whitmer, Whit, Whillmore or Jerms), the best man. He originally met Lucien at Bloomington High School South and continued the friendship into their time at Indiana University. Living with Lucien during and after college, he has found great success in Chicago as a DevOps Engineer at Cision. Out of work, he’s an avid gamer with a deep knowledge of the gaming/film industry. When he’s not watching David Lynch films or building databases, he takes time to use his Eagle Scout lessons in the great outdoors. Don’t think you have more merit badges than him! Him and his fiancé Riley, recently adopted a cute cat named Luna.

Matt

Matt Sullivan hails from Bloomington, Indiana, where he met the groom in 1st grade at Rogers elementary school. A natural athlete, Matt joined the local swim club where he and Lucien competed for many years. He currently resides in New York with his wife Kelsey Finn and works in the city government.

A dedicated gamer, Matt’s passion lies in DOTA, a popular multiplayer online battle arena game. When he isn’t yelling at random online rivals from South America, you can find him taking long strolls in Prospect Park, Brooklyn with Kelsey. Matt and the groom regularly challenge each other in sports and various games, fostering a healthy spirit of competition and camaraderie.

Nick

Nick Carpenter originally hails from Bloomington, Indiana, but now resides in the dusty city of Houston, Texas. He and the groom, Lucien, have been friends since their first-grade days, and even remembers when Lucien had an Australian accent.

Nick is an avid enthusiast of board games and golf, finding joy in strategic gameplay and competition. He graduated from Purdue University and settled in Houston with his wife, Abby. Recently, they purchased their first home together.

A man of honor, Nick Carpenter is a man with no flaws, well except the fact that he went to Purdue.

Steve

Steve Landrey originally comes from Bloomington, Indiana and met Lucien in Jackson Creek Middle School (year 7), but currently calls the bustling city of Chicago home. He and Lucien shared a similar awkwardness in middle school but quickly developed a friendship that continued through life. He studied at Purdue University with fellow groomsman, Nick Carpenter.  He has cultivated a passion for cooking, delighting friends and family alike with his culinary creations. Outside of the kitchen, Steve enjoys attending music shows large and small. The more psychedelic the music, the better.

Among their group of friends, Steve stands out as the resident impressionist, easily delivering spot-on impersonations that never fail to bring laughter. If you’re lucky, he will show you his Creed impression.

Steve is happily married to Paige and they share a rambunctious and cheeky dog named Stella.

Mike (Bato)

Michael Disabato, or affectionally known as “Bato”, is a native of Flossmore, Chicago, and currently resides in Brooklyn near fellow groomsman, Matt Sullivan. He is deeply passionate about sustainability and environmental research, dedicating his career to exploring innovative solutions that promote ecological balance and sustainable living practices. Don’t leave the water running around him!

Bato and the groom share a unique bond forged during their time at Indiana University, where they shared mutual love for experimental music whether it be Chilean electronic music or sounds of a dishwasher running.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Bato finds joy in spending time with his partner, Percie, and their two young children. Bato would like the entire wedding party to know that he beat Matt Sullivan in a swimming race two years ago.

Mike

Mike Ciccarone, originally from New York City, now resides in Washington DC where he works as a policy analyst for the US government. A die-hard New York sports fan, Mike passionately enjoys cheering for his home teams (despite their fundamental flaws and clashing differences with Lucien’s Indiana teams).
Mike met fellow groomsman, Matt Sullivan during an Oxford abroad program during his Indiana University days and was subsequently introduced to Lucien. Lucien and Mike enjoyed many rigorous and scholarly debates during this time as well as an occasional party cruise in the Caribbean. Mike recently became engaged to the lovely Amy and the two share an Australian shepherd named Seaver.
